Murano glass beads used in our collections are handmade one by one. Each bead is a unique creation. It is the result of  Venetian craftswomen – also named “perlere” – manual capability and it is decorated with 24 KT white and yellow gold foils.
Colour shades, tiny bubbles, size differences among beads are the evidence of their non-industrial, totally handmade, 100% Venetian production.

Production
To create a single bead, the “perlere” lay a Murano glass “cane” over a gas-lamp flame, once the glass cane gets to the melting temperature the decoration process starts.
Such an ancient art requires both patience and precision specially to sparkle each mm of the bead with precious powders as gold, silver and avventurina as “the perlere” do.
Sometimes the perlere draw their inspiration from old Byzantium techniques. Wrapping glass around 24KT gold foils they realize an amazing effect in which gold seems to float.
