MURANO A' PORTER guest of Castello Massino Visconti San Vito

On Saturday, July 11, 2009 an opening party took place within the beautiful setting of the Castello Massino Visconti di San Vito. The chance for the party was given by the Castle “renaissance”, after its recent restructurings, as well as by the beginning of a serie of events celebrating it.

To highlight such a rebirth, a group of Italian companies – representing MADE IN ITALY excellence – was also invited to set up an expositive area, inside the castle.

Among these companies - as a testimonial of an accessible luxury, blending together Venetian glass making tradition and trendy accessories production - Murano à Porter took part in the exposition. Gardens, towers, halls and even the impressive “blades room”- formerly used to torture prisoners- were visited by lots of people enjoying the beauty of the place as well as classic cars expositions, wedding gowns catwalks, wine tasting and - last but not least - Murano à Porter glass jewels.

Elegance and aestethic “politeness” were dominating Castello Massino Visconti di San Vito opening party expressing the search for an authentic luxury, clean and far from ostentation.

Between Legend and History

As the story goes, the only jewels the Venetian peeress Lucrezia Locheschi adorned her alabaster skin with, were Murano glass beads shining with gold, silver and avventurina. The legend also tells how this 18th century fashion victim was obsessed with Murano glass jewellery as a result of her unordinary love life. During the dates with her lover Giacomo Casanova, she was kindly asked to only wear her precious beads. Casanova demanded her to lay on the “talamo” only wearing her cherished Murano glass jewelry, made by the Venetian craftwomen who strang the beads as Casanova desired for her lover.

Thinking of Lucrezia, of the 18th century charm and of these legendary love sighs, Murano à Porter centers its collection around Venetian traditions and artisan luxury. Murano à Porter brings in a new concept, a unique glance in which every piece can be a precious ornament: décolletés are adorned with fabulous Murano beads, sparkling earrings with gold and silver shades, jingling bracelets dangling from wrists and the purse – as a perfect match – all celebrating a feminine elegance lasting over time and fashion. In Murano à Porter collections every single component is entirely hand-made in Venice according to the long-established rules imposed by glass making tradition.
